White is not a color we added. It is the fiber's own natural pigment — first-shearing baby Huacaya alpaca fur exactly as it comes from the animal, with nothing added and nothing taken away. The purest Cloud Touch bear in our collection.

The Cloud Touch white experience

The white Cloud Touch Bear is the natural, undyed expression of our signature Huacaya alpaca fiber. No dye was added to achieve this color. No chemical treatment was applied. The warm white you see — with its faint natural luster — is the fiber exactly as it comes from a young Huacaya alpaca in the Andean highlands of Peru.

The Cloud Touch sensation — the weightless, cloud-soft density that defines this collection — is a direct property of first-shearing baby alpaca fiber. Naturally hollow-cored, dense without weight, soft without any synthetic friction. If you have held a premium synthetic plush and felt that something was missing — this is what was missing. A fiber that is biologically, structurally different from polyester. One that stays this soft indefinitely with proper care because the softness is structural, not chemical.

Handmade by one of our 35+ indigenous Andean artisan family cooperatives in Peru. One artisan makes each piece from start to finish. Ships with an Artisan Story Card and Certificate of Authenticity.

The purest hypoallergenic option in our bear collection

For families seeking the cleanest possible natural fiber stuffed animal — the natural white Cloud Touch Bear is our purest Huacaya option. Zero dye. Zero chemical softening agents. Zero lanolin. The fiber is exactly as it comes from the animal — processed minimally to preserve every natural property.

Genuine first-shearing baby Huacaya alpaca fur is naturally lanolin-free — the primary allergen in sheep's wool. It requires no chemical softening to achieve its Cloud Touch texture because the softness is structural — a property of the fiber's microscopic diameter — not a surface treatment.

For parents who have been searching for a genuine natural plush alternative — no petroleum-based materials, no chemical finishes, no synthetic friction — this is that product. For children with sensitive skin, eczema, or fabric allergies, natural undyed baby alpaca fur is the gold standard in natural fiber stuffed animals.

Natural fiber vs synthetic plush

Premium synthetic plush is engineered to feel extraordinary at first touch. The fiber is chemically softened to pass the initial feel test in a store or on a screen. What synthetic plush cannot engineer is what happens after — after washing, after six months of daily carrying, after a child who runs warm sleeps with it every night.

Genuine first-shearing baby alpaca fur behaves differently. Spot cleaned correctly it retains its natural softness and hypoallergenic properties indefinitely. The softness is not a surface treatment. It is a property of the fiber's molecular structure. It does not wash out.

The white Cloud Touch Bear contains zero petroleum-based materials, zero chemical finishes, and zero synthetic friction. This is what genuine natural fiber feels like — and why it is in a different category from any synthetic plush at any price point.

Care instructions

Spot clean gently with cool water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Never machine wash or tumble dry. Reshape by hand while damp and allow to air dry flat. Natural undyed baby alpaca fur retains its Cloud Touch softness and hypoallergenic properties indefinitely with proper care.

Inspired Peru is an artisan cooperative consisting of 35 artisans; the majority are widows and heads of household from indigenous communities in the Peruvian highlands. Ethically sourced, local alpaca wool is used to craft products, such as stuffed animals and accessories, that celebrate the artisans’ ancestral and cultural heritage. The artisans generally work from the comfort of their home; however, they have access to a communal workshop in the city of Lima. At Inspired Peru, artisans are empowered to transmit their traditional skills to future generations while expanding their business and leadership skills. Artisans have access to skill development programs through Inspired Peru. We are proud to partner with artisans at Inspired Peru.

THE TECHNIQUE

On average, six to eight artisans collaborate on the production of these stuffed animals. It takes about five days to craft each of these adorable, hypoallergenic stuffed animals. The process begins with artisans shaping molds and carefully sewing the body. Each animal’s face is separately constructed, giving each piece a very realistic flair. After carefully shaving the alpaca, the hair is washed and sun-dried for one to two days. Depending on the item, the artisans may dye the alpaca hair using vibrant colors. Dying involves additional hand-wash cycles to reach the desired color. Molds are separately made using flexible cardboard. Artisans carefully hand-glue the washed alpaca hair to the mold. Once dried, the hair is thoroughly hand-combed to reach its staple softness. No animal cruelty is involved in the sourcing of the alpaca hair.
