Return Your Companion
to the Hands That Made It
An alpaca companion is not a toy to be replaced. It is a piece meant to be passed down. We promise care, not speed.

Enrique Arias
Master Artisan · The Andes of Peru
The Heirloom Spa is guided by Enrique Arias — the artisan whose hands have shaped alpaca companions for decades and the father of Inspired Peru's founder, Carlos Arias. When a companion returns for restoration, it is cared for by the same artisan tradition that created it.

Created for Inspired Peru companions
The Heirloom Spa was built for the pieces our artisan families make. We know the materials, the construction, and the hands that shaped them. That knowledge is what makes restoration possible at this level.
Inspired Peru Restoration
For pieces made by our artisan families, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Our highest level of restoration confidence — we know exactly what went into making your piece.
Alpaca Heritage Restoration
We also accept genuine alpaca companions from other brands. Our artisans specialize in alpaca fiber specifically. Third-party pieces are subject to additional assessment terms — see the disclaimer below.
Every companion has a story
Our first restoration stories are being written right now. Each one is a companion that meant too much to let go. Check back soon.
A note on restoration
Because every companion is individually crafted and mended by hand, restoration will uniquely evolve its character. We honor the original essence of your piece while ensuring its structural integrity for generations to come.
For third-party alpaca pieces, Inspired Peru cannot verify the original materials, construction methods, dyes, adhesives, or internal fill used in manufacture. Restoration is performed on a best-efforts basis. Hidden structural weaknesses, degraded materials, or prior repairs may affect outcomes despite reasonable care.
Beyond-repair pieces are returned to you by default. If you prefer not to have your piece returned, please indicate this in your submission and we will handle disposal respectfully on your behalf.
Full terms of service are provided at the time of assessment authorization. Terms are subject to attorney review prior to launch.

Some companions are gifts. Some are reminders of someone we love. Some have simply been there for years. Whatever your story, we'd be honored to help preserve it.
No shipment or payment required at this stage — we review every submission personally before anything moves.
Whenever possible, restorations are handled by the artisan family most familiar with that style of companion — the same families who have been making Inspired Peru pieces since 2011.
Meet the Artisans →Common Questions
What is the Heirloom Spa?
The Heirloom Spa is Inspired Peru's lifetime restoration service for genuine alpaca companions. Customers can submit damaged or worn companions for artisan assessment and repair — both Inspired Peru pieces and genuine alpaca companions from other brands.
Do I have to commit to restoration just to get an assessment?
No. The assessment is a conversation, not a commitment. After reviewing your photos and video, we will tell you what is possible and provide a quote. You decide whether to proceed from there — no payment is required until you approve the restoration.
What types of pieces does the Heirloom Spa accept?
The Heirloom Spa is created for Inspired Peru companions. We also accept genuine alpaca companions from other brands through our Alpaca Heritage Restoration program. We do not accept synthetic plush or non-alpaca stuffed animals.
How does the process work?
Every restoration begins with a photo and video assessment — no shipment or payment required at this stage. We review your submission personally. If you choose to proceed, a $35 assessment fee is charged and we provide full shipping instructions. The fee is credited toward your total restoration cost.
What does the $35 assessment fee cover?
The $35 assessment fee covers the artisan time required to evaluate your piece and prepare your restoration plan. It is credited toward the total cost of any approved restoration. If restoration is not pursued, the fee is non-refundable.
What if my piece cannot be restored?
If your piece is found to be beyond repair after physical inspection, and its condition matches what was shown in your submitted photos and video, the $35 fee is retained for assessment. Your piece is returned to you by default — or disposed of respectfully at your request.
Can you restore pieces that are more than 10 years old?
Yes — age alone does not determine repairability. We assess each piece individually based on the condition of the fiber, seams, and fill. Some of the most meaningful restorations are pieces that have been loved for a decade or more. Submit your photos and video and we will give you an honest assessment.
Do I need the Certificate of Authenticity?
For Inspired Peru pieces, the Certificate of Authenticity helps us identify the piece and its artisan. However, it is not required to submit an assessment request. If you no longer have it, simply describe your piece in as much detail as possible.
Will you restore pieces made by other brands?
Yes — through our Alpaca Heritage Restoration program, we accept genuine alpaca companions from other brands. We do not accept synthetic plush or non-alpaca stuffed animals. Third-party pieces are subject to additional assessment terms.
How long does restoration take?
Artisan restoration is done by hand, with care. We promise care, not speed. Turnaround time is communicated individually after your assessment is complete.
Will my piece look exactly the same after restoration?
Because every companion is individually crafted and mended by hand, restoration will uniquely evolve its character. We honor the original essence of your piece while ensuring its structural integrity for generations to come.
A note on our return policy: The Heirloom Spa is a restoration service for companions beyond their 30-day return window. For recent purchases with quality concerns, please contact us directly.
