The Cloud Touch Giant Bear — 46" Genuine Baby Alpaca | Luxury Heirloom Gift | Handmade in Peru
Alpaca Fur Teddy Bear
Inspired Peru
At 46 inches, this is not a toy. It is the most significant handmade gift you will ever give — and the only one of its kind in the world.
The Cloud Touch Giant experience
The Cloud Touch Giant Bear stands 46 inches tall — nearly four feet of genuine first-shearing baby alpaca fur, hand-shaped and hand-stitched by a single master artisan at our cooperative in Peru. Not assembled. Not produced in multiples. Made one at a time, by one person, over many days of focused labor.
At this scale, the Cloud Touch sensation becomes something entirely different. The density of genuine Huacaya baby alpaca fiber — naturally hollow-cored, lanolin-free, and chemical-free — creates a presence that fills a room. Rooms that contain this bear have a different quality to them. Children who receive it never forget it. Adults who see it cannot resist touching it.
There is no equivalent to this product at any price point in any mass market. The fiber is first-shearing baby alpaca — the finest grade. The construction is entirely by hand by an artisan who signed the Certificate of Authenticity inside the box. The scale is 46 inches. The origin is Peru. The ownership is 100% artisan — made by the same families who have worked with this fiber for generations.
This is the gift someone receives once in a lifetime.

Why this bear costs $699
This is the question worth answering directly.
$699 is the cost of first-shearing baby alpaca fiber at the quantity required to fill and cover a 46-inch bear. It is the cost of the days of skilled artisan labor required to hand-shape and hand-stitch a piece at this scale. It is the cost of the Certificate of Authenticity signed by the person who made it. And it is the cost of free shipping within the United States on a package that, at this size, is significant to ship.
There is no factory price for this product because there is no factory version of this product. It does not exist at a lower price point because the materials and labor required to make it genuinely cost what they cost.
What you are purchasing is not a stuffed animal in the conventional sense. You are purchasing the full labor of a skilled Peruvian artisan, the finest fiber grade available in the Andes, and an object that will be in your family for decades. By that measure — $699 is not expensive.

Care & more
Spot clean gently with cool water and a mild, fragrance-free soap. Never machine wash or tumble dry. Reshape by hand while damp and allow to air dry flat. At this scale, professional textile cleaning is recommended for deep cleaning if ever required. Baby alpaca fiber retains its Cloud Touch softness and hypoallergenic properties indefinitely with proper care.

INSPIRED PERU
Inspired Peru is an artisan cooperative consisting of 35 artisans; the majority are widows and heads of household from indigenous communities in the Peruvian highlands. Ethically sourced, local alpaca wool is used to craft products, such as stuffed animals and accessories, that celebrate the artisans’ ancestral and cultural heritage. The artisans generally work from the comfort of their home; however, they have access to a communal workshop in the city of Lima. At Inspired Peru, artisans are empowered to transmit their traditional skills to future generations while expanding their business and leadership skills. Artisans have access to skill development programs through Inspired Peru. We are proud to partner with artisans at Inspired Peru.

THE TECHNIQUE
On average, six to eight artisans collaborate on the production of these stuffed animals. It takes about five days to craft each of these adorable, hypoallergenic stuffed animals. The process begins with artisans shaping molds and carefully sewing the body. Each animal’s face is separately constructed, giving each piece a very realistic flair. After carefully shaving the alpaca, the hair is washed and sun-dried for one to two days. Depending on the item, the artisans may dye the alpaca hair using vibrant colors. Dying involves additional hand-wash cycles to reach the desired color. Molds are separately made using flexible cardboard. Artisans carefully hand-glue the washed alpaca hair to the mold. Once dried, the hair is thoroughly hand-combed to reach its staple softness. No animal cruelty is involved in the sourcing of the alpaca hair.
